Tomorrow, Thursday March 28, one of our Toronto tangueros makes his debut as a DJ at Practica La Coqueta. In the announcement he is referred to as DJ Mahmoud Wahby but many know him better by his Facebook name of La Llama Que Tango. The following Thursday, La Coqueta brings in veteran DJ Jorge to celebrate its fourth anniversary with a milonga when dancing will continue until midnight as the following day is a public holiday.
Luna Palacios Visit Cancelled
Tango Soul has just announced that Luna Palacios from Buenos Aires will not teach at Faye’s Ladies Tango Weekend (April 13 – 15) as scheduled. This will also no doubt affect the classes planned for La Coqueta and La Cachila.
New Classes by Katya Kuznetsova
Natalia of 3-2-Tango posted on Facebook:
Last Saturday at Milonga-2-3, Katya Kuznetsova taught a very interesting class on deepening the tango embrace using the technique of contact improvisation. I believe it may be useful for both leaders and followers. Katya is going to expand this topic into a series of classes and has an opportunity to teach at Bohemian Palace Sunday evenings.
Interested dancers should message Katya on Facebook or contact Natalia through the 3-2-Tango website.
Comme Il Fauts for $150
Regularly priced at $199, Elizabeth’s full selection of Comme Il Faut tango shoes will be only $150 at the March 31 Milonga Portena which has a gypsy theme. (Methinks the dresses of the My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding TV show are not what the organisers have in mind.)
