This evening I expect over a hundred of us will gather to celebrate 14 years of Paradiso milongas. As a self-proclaimed diarest for our community, my admiration grows daily for those who contribute to our community.
Any tango event in Toronto is a symbiosis between the organizers and the dancers, and nobody recognises this more than Patricia and Regina. At La Cachila on Sunday they announced the birthday milonga as an opportunity to give back to those who support them.
And what a party they have created. For only $30: I will attend a class by a world-reknowned maestro; mingle with friendly tango lovers for five hours ; graze the lovingly-prepared refreshments; and be transported to other worlds on the dance floor (leaders permitting). Other Torontonians will spend $30 on one ticket to Hobo with a Shotgun and stuff their faces with faces with popcorn for two hours at a multiplex.
